I started with an Umax 2400 scanner at the time, and eventually upgraded to an HP 6200C scanner, acquired when I upgraded my 200 MHz Pentium Pro system to a 450 MHz Pentium II system. In recognition of this, let me add an addendum to the last post, addressing a different Step One of the workflow, which is the capturing of digital images from printed images via scanning.Īs a nearly lifelong fan of digital imaging, I have been using scanners to capture images since 1996 or so, something that I started doing as soon as my then new 200 MHz Pentium Pro system finally provided me with a computer that had enough “grunt” to get the job done. Instead of being captured with a digital camera, they were being captured with film cameras, printed and then scanned. Prior to the emergence of usable digital cameras, digitized photos were still being created of course. It occurred to me after publishing my last post, Digital Photography Workflow on a Power Macintosh 7300/200, that I had missed an obvious point.
